As I’ve mentioned in my previous blog post, I highly recommend starting a blog for your Etsy shop. You will have a place where you can get creative about your Etsy business. You can connect with your customers on a personal level as well.
Now that you’ve decided to finally create a blog for your handmade business, it’s time to think of what you should write about.
Here are some ideas that can help you create your blog content for your Etsy shop.
Here, you can show the process of how you make your products. Those who are interested in your items would surely love to know how you create them.
You can share what materials you used and why you like to use them for your products.
It is also a good opportunity to link your listings that are relevant to your blog post which could lead to sales!
This will make your audience more informed about your products, hence, making them more comfortable buying from you.
Share how your products can be useful for your customers; and that your products are worth every penny. There can be so many reasons and make sure that your customers are aware of them.
Share what makes you creative or what motivates you to make your products. I’m sure your customers would love to know!
You want people to know when you’re adding new products to your shop and blogging is a good strategy. We know that getting your new items seen on Etsy is not always easy, so tell your customers about them in your blog.
It’s a guarantee that your audience will love this. Plan this kind of post once in a while to let your customers know that you appreciate them. You can include giveaways or prizes to make it more fun! It can be a free item, discount coupons, or products from your Etsy shop.
I know you can do this in the About Shop section of your Etsy store. However, in a blog, you can share more details – the sky is the limit. Your customers want to know you as a person too and not just what you sell.
This will enable them to know who they are doing business with. It promotes a more personal connection with them and builds their trust.
This is especially useful when you make products for different seasons or release product lines specifically for a season.
Your blog posts don’t have to always be about your Etsy shop. You can also share your favorite places, food, books, and more.
Charles founded his Etsy shop Wall Decal Source in 2012. He opened his decal shop and decided to create a nursery decal for his sisters new baby. Funnily enough he published the decal as an item for sale on his Etsy shop and people really liked it. Well a few years later and his shop has been almost completely taken over by nursery wall decals. He must still be a kid at heart. As Charles tested and tried all sorts of methods to expand his shop he stumbled upon a few simple formulas for consistently growing Etsy sales and views.
